LOS ANGELES (July 21, 2023) – The Honorable Mary Ann Lutz’s bid for Congress is picking up steam as her first finance report reveals an outpouring of support from across the district. The campaign’s recent financial success is a testament to the growing momentum behind Lutz and her commitment to serving the people of District 31.

According to the finance reports that closed on June 30, 2023, Lutz has received an impressive surge in donations totaling over $68,000 in the three weeks since announcing her candidacy, showcasing a groundswell of support from the community, and demonstrating that constituents believe in her ability to champion their concerns and aspirations on a national level. On average, Lutz raised an impressive $22,600 per week.

Lutz’s decision to run for Congress stems from her unwavering belief in the power of people working together to create positive change. Through her years of service as Mayor, Councilmember, and currently as a Member of the Citrus Community College Board of Trustees, as well as a former advisor to the current Congresswoman, Lutz has consistently demonstrated her ability to effectively address issues and advance the health and safety of our neighborhoods.

Lutz and her husband have called Monrovia home for more than 35 years. In addition to her extensive civic and non-profit roles, she built a successful business based in the City of Monrovia.
