LOS ANGELES (January 25, 2024) – World renown environmental organization, Greenpeace USA, gives Mary Ann Lutz a perfect score for her environmental policy positions.
The activist organization produced a 2024 California Congressional District 31 Scorecard showing Mary Ann Lutz as the only candidate in CA 31 with a perfect, pro-environment position on their leading issues.
Greenpeace USA is focused on the climate crisis, safeguarding the planet for future generations, advancing racial justice, and building an economy that puts people over profits.  In order to support pro-environment candidates, Greenpeace USA organizes their volunteers to reach out to voters in CA 31 by sending personalized letters about the scorecard and Lutz’s ranking.
“This is just fantastic,” said Lutz, an environmental policy expert with a proven track record.  “With so many candidates in the race, the voters need to hear from respected organizations about which candidate will best protect the environment and fight climate change.  I’m thrilled to know there are legions of volunteers working to help inform the voters on the importance of supporting my candidacy.”
Former Mayor, Councilmember and current Community College Trustee, Lutz has demonstrated a deep commitment to preserving open spaces, protecting water and air quality, and advocating for sustainable policies throughout her career. As a past Chair of the LA Regional Water Quality Control Board, co-creator of HR 7279, and environmental Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG), she played a pivotal role in shaping and implementing environmental initiatives to safeguard natural  resources and promote ecological balance.
